GSTN allows taxpayers to file returns on quarterly, monthly basis according to turnover
New Delhi: Taxpayers who have filed GST returns will be able to see the status of returns on the GST Network (GSTN) portal.
GSTN CEO Prakash Kumar said, “All users logging on GST portal can now see the data status of the returns filed.” He said that the status of all returns from GSTR-1 to GSTR-3B can be seen on the portal in one place.
GSTR-3B is the initial sales return, which is to be filed by 20th of every next month. GSTR-1 is the second best selling return.
The traders doing business up to Rs 1.5 crore annually have been allowed to fill the quarterly returns of GSTR-3B. This returns for the July-September quarter is December 31.
Those traded for more than 1.5 crore rupees, the GSTR-1 of July-October quarter is also filled it by December 31.
GSTN has already provided to taxpayers the functionality to claim the refund of exports of service with payment of tax, ITC accumulated due to inverted tax structure and on account of supplies made to SEZ.
GSTN has also started the functionality of Return Form GSTR-5A, to be filed by Online Information Database Access. Form GSTR-5A to be filed by companies which provide services through the medium of the internet and are received by the recipient online without any physical interface with the supplier of such services.
