GST refunds continue getting delay and creating problems for SEZ exporters.
The Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs, has demand for online linkage between GSTN and NSDL portal, for smooth facilitation of the GST refunds.
“There have been a staggering 367 changes to the GST rules till April 15, since the new tax structure came into being last year,” Vinay Sharma, (EPCES Chairman) said.
In the meeting conducted of an open house in where over 250 exporters from EOU’s And SEZ’s from all over country in New Delhi on 25th April to communicate with officials of commerce, finance ministries and GSTN officials.
Exporter’s suggests in the meeting to link GSTN and NSDL Portal to resolve most of GST refund issues which hammers their business after July 2017.
Exporters have claimed that over 60 per cent of their refunds are stuck at the moment. The government has sanctioned GST refunds to exporters to the tune of Rs 17,616 crore from July 2017 till March 2018.
Total Tax collections goes down by 15 to 20% due to GST: Assam CM
Assam’s experience with the ambitious GST has not been good as collections have dropped by 15-20 percent on month-on-month basis, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said today.
Making his inaugural speech before the visiting 15th Finance Commission, Sonowal said: “The experience of GST till now has not been encouraging. There is an estimated 15-20 percent loss when collections are compared with expected revenue on month to month basis.”
FM Arun Jaitley-chaired GST Council will meet on May 4 to discuss on GST Return Simplification and the amendments to be required in the indirect tax regime rules.
The next 27th GST Council meeting , comprising state finance ministers, will meet through video conferencing and will also think over the proposal of How to convert GSTN into a government company.
