New Delhi:- In the country Impact of GST over logistics sector, around 3 million new jobs will be created in the next 4 years. This possibility is due to the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and investment in the infrastructure sector.
These things have been said in a report of Team Lease. This report has been released in the name of ‘Indian Logistics Revolution – Big Island, Big Jobs’.
These 7 sub-sectors will come in jobs:-
According to the report, nearly 30 lakh new jobs will be created in the next four years in seven sub sectors like Road Transport, Rail Transportation, Warehousing, Waterways, Air Transportation, Packaging and Courier Services.
This will increase the employment figure in the sector by 2022 to reach 1.39 crore from 1.09 crore. It has been stated in the report that 18.9 lakh in road transport sector, 40 thousand in railway freight, 4 lakh in air transport and 4.5 lakh incremental jobs in the waterways sector.
Impact of GST:-
It has been said in the report that behind the growth of this sector, public investment of Rs 6 lakh crore, the sector has been instrumental in getting the infrastructure status and implementation of GST.
According to the report, the highest employment opportunities in the road transport sector will be available in Mumbai, Delhi – NCR and Ahmedabad. There will be employment opportunities in the most waterways areas in Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Guwahati.
