GST collections Jumps up, crossed Rs 89,260 crore in March: Finance secretary

GST collection crossed Rs 89,260 crores. Tax collection in FY-2017-18 crossed over the target, said  Hashmukh Adhia Finance Secretary

The finance secretary also said that  GST collections are on rising way and the Feb month crossed over Rs 89,260 crore. Approx total RS. 17,616 crores as refund has been given out so far, he added.

CBDT Chairman said 68.4 million income tax returns have been uploaded in last Financial 2017-18 year as against 54.3 million last year.

9.95 million new assessees have been added to income tax net and collections in FY18 are at Rs 9.95 trillion as compared to Rs 9.8 trillion target.


The finance secretary told that the e-way bill system was properly rolled out on 01 April 2018 without any technical glitches.

Total 259000 e-bills have been generated on 1st April and 289,000 e-way bills have been generated till 3 pm on Monday, said by the Prakash Kumar GSTN CEO.

Almost total 11 lakh dealers already registered for the e-way bill, he added.
